If that would’ve happened, I would’ve started exploring my options to leave the country
You are free to do as you wish all I am saying is those who earn more should be taxed more.

I would prefer doing it directly like higher slab rates otherwise if they dont want to increase directly then they can do it indirectly by increasing the tax for cars above 10L (SUV's and higher end cars) or for costly 2 wheelers or more tax for eating out in 4 star or 5 star hotels. Same with stays in luxury hotels like Taj and all

it might surprise many, At 50 lakh, in India you actually pay only around 22% of the total amount as tax. At 15 lakhs the effective rate is hardly 7%.
So,objectively we do NOT pay high taxes. In developed countries everyone gets taxed and at way higher rates. Plus they have benefits of erstwhile colonial loot.
Focus should be getting more people in income tax net. we know many people dealing real estate and even small businesses who do not pay their share. That is the problem.
Baki some folks will do **** rona, or say like i will go to foreign bla bla no matter what is done.

Agree but what facilities you are getting after paying taxes?Potholes roads, trafffic congestion etc.I am all for higher tax collection if it yields something for me & Not wasted on Ladli Behna,Laddu Bhai etc.And as for getting more people into income tax net,a rational approach for it is needed rather than threatening people to pay taxes.Around 20 years back my father who is a doctor had his income assessed by some crooked IT guy who asked neighbourhood people on how much my father earns and based on that he made some flimsy assessment which was 10 times more than what my father used to earn.Ultimately my father had to run from pillar to post to get that income tax notice nullified. This is tax terrorism. These IT guys have their monthly/qtrly/yearly target and non salaried people are their easy preys.

Agree completely with your sentiment. And in your father's case, i have full empathy. A lot has changed since 20 years, with digital and all, and faceless scrutiny. I know many doctors who charge 1500 per visit but do not take upi. Goes to medical company sponsored trips to Paris , Monaco but will not accept digital. You can guess the reason. These are the people who make lives difficult for honest people like your father.

And we as voters need to hold our state and municipalities accountable.BJP/Congress/local + promoter/contractor nexus. Out of every ₹18 collected in GST ₹13 goes to state. Have you seen any narrative against states? The problem is our anger is misdirected and we are not angry with our local councillors and mlas.they are the ones who affect our daily lives most. The municipalities and states needs to be severely brought to task by us citizens. Also sarkari babus. these are the people who needs to be accountable.

But you bring in laws to streamline beaurocracy, people will be on the streets. You make land, labour reforms ,people will be on the streets. Maybe we need to take a long hard look at ourselves. Vande bharat introduced, people will treat it as a dustbin and throw stones and then say "oooh look at Japan , so clean". People throw their waste on the road. I remember taking an international flight with mostly indian passengers. Trust me, the flight looked like a dustbin.

Yatha praja, tatha raja. Time you and me and everyone started holding ourselves to higher standards than constant complaining.

People do hold states accountable for their misery unless the state is TN.However, there are state subjects and there are Center subjects.I can't hold State govt. responsible for income tax, condition of NH,Railway infra etc. Also, I don't know what people expect from their representatives when they sell their votes directly or indirectly.Money doesn't grows on trees if someone is giving money for your votes obviously he/she will recover it in some way.
