I think Telcos may reach their target data cost (per GB) by June with tariff hikes, every three months.

Govt. Officials hurry for Floor tariff for mobile data and calls
Telecom tariff floor for mobile calls and data need of the hour: Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant to Trai - ET Telecom
Requested mobile data tariff per GB: Airtel Rs.30, Vodafone Idea Rs.35 and Jio Rs.20 and off-net voice pack for 1000 mins : Rs.50 (Jio)
I don't understand what our country has become. We would have in a far better state if Jio was not allowed to bend the rules and provide 7 months complimentary service, under the pretext of "Beta". As we saw in RCom, now even Jio is crying foul. First they themselves doled out freebies, and now expect the Government to act to raise their prices? Bad business.

The floor pricing is now almost certain and it's the matter of not "whether" but "when" it will be implemented. The floor pricing will be minimum of 12-13 INR for a gigabyte of data not to be mentioned the fixed charges and off-net pack of 1000 min which Jio has said should be priced around ₹50.

Honeymoon is over. Dark times are ahead and there is no small operators to save us as they are all dead.

The floor pricing will be minimum of Rs. 15-20 per GB to be considered as all operators requested. Our only hope will be BSNL, which was asked to exempted from floor pricing.

4G data charges may go up by 10X as Airtel, Jio and Vodafone ask govt to set minimum floor price

If the regulators accept proposal from telecom operators, the data price may see an increase tenfold or more. How it will impact you? Take this example. Right now you are using the cheapest data plan -- Rs 3.5 per GB -- with overall plan price of Rs 599 with a validity of 84 days. It offers up to 2GB data per day at 4G speed. After the telcos set a floor price, the same plan may end up -- theoretically -- costing between Rs 3,360 to 5,880.
