The second tied Test

..
On this day in 2011, India and West
Indies played out only the second
drawn test match with the scores
tied. The Test match in Mumbai came
to life only on the final day with both
teams having taken four days to
complete their first innings. West
Indies were bundled out for a paltry
134 in their second innings on the
fifth morning, with spinners Pragyan
Ojha and Ravichandran Ashwin
splitting the wickets 6 and 4
respectively. Chasing 243, India got
off to a good start before regular
wickets derailed their chase. With two
overs to go, India needed 6 more runs
for a victory when debutant no.11
batsman Varun Aaron walked in. And
with two required off the final ball,
first innings centurion, Ashwin, could
only manage a single. Ashwin was
subsequently named player of the
match and series for his consistent
all-round performance.
