Guyz the problem is there are many simultaneous matches which none of the indian sports channels can telecasted unless they share the matches telecast between them.

boy u seem so greedy..
do u know which r the seria a teams relegated this time or those teams which r promoted....
Only important matches of famous teams r enough !
No point of sharing rights between channels. ..
it will cause more confusion !

Sharing is the only way forward but in India it seems impossible due to the egos of the respective entities. All sports channels are bleeding as they have overpaid hugely for these rights. But still they don't want to share the rights. They are paying for each match but not showing majority of them.

In Latin America as well as U.S., Fox and ESPN share the rights of various leagues as well as Champions league matches etc which enables them to monetize each and every match.

Here channels will lose monies and let the matches be downloaded on their servers which can be watched by them only but still won't share it with the other broadcaster.

ayanc bro.. there is no need of sharing of football content between channels ..

I mean even if they share do you expect them to make any revenues? just for example when a top team like man utd, real, barca or bayern is on action, no one (other than a small mminority) is going to watch other matches .. so no one gets the benfit by just showing all matches...

the case is a bit different in Latin America bcz they have home grown players(even though small numbers) playing for the teams ...so that can lead to them watching the games..

Also I,believe the rating system of taking samples from 10 houses and showing it as output of 100000 houses doesnt really help the smaller games....(I am not sure how rating system works, sorry,if I am wrong)

Star likely to retain Serie A rights.http://www.televisionpost.com/television/star-secures-bundesliga-rights-for-indian-subcontinent-till-2020/

One of my friend sent me the message whic SS sent him
Hi! We do not have the rights for Italian Serie A 2015/16. However, you can enjoy LIVE action of the Barclays Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga on the Star sports network.

So deal has been done by Sony for Serie A as well as FA Cup.

They will show minimum 5 live games of Serie A per round except during ipl. They also intend to show all 10 matches live online on livsports.

So much better coverage than Star hopefully.

They do not have till now for La Liga also. Their deal was till last season. The tender for next season rights is yet to be launched. Hopefully some other channel will take this from Star.

Star can focus on showing cricket on 4 channels, isl and hockey India league on 4 channels.
