Yes but not if other family members are simultaneously connected to the WiFi using it for other purposes. Also the TRAI mandate for broadband minimum speed is still 512 Kbps so Jio could keep the Post FUP speed for basic plan as 512 Kbps to ensure that subscriber goes for booster data pack for the remainder of the billing cycle. FUP limits and post FUP speeds for higher denomination plans could be higher in steps of 1, 2, 3 and 5 Mbps. True unlimited without FUP for 100 Mbps may begin from 2.5k. There are other ISPs providing good true unlimited plans at high speed at half the price but their availability is very limited, Jio will have a nation wide footprint and will ensure that they make good profits since Mukesh Ambani wants to make the company net debt free in just 18 months from now.
At present JiO GigaFiber is giving 2mbps speed post consumption of 100 gb quota (if 40gb free top up not recharged) in areas of Bengaluru
Yes ₹700 (with GST?) is bit high if Cable TV not included.
But if cable TV included then it's dirt cheap in present scenario.

Thank you for your interest in JioGigaFiber. We are expanding our network rapidly & will be available at your location /Building soon,we will then contact you.

Any idea about the specifications of the Jio STB in terms of recordings, app content and the SW used??

I heard one of the STB (the HD one, not the 4K) is provided by SDMC, it's the DV8038 with an Amlogic S805X. It is Android AOSP (custom interface, not certified by Google) and not Android TV.

JIO names it the IP STB JMC30211 (SDMC) and the other one, from the manufacturer 'Skyworth' is called the JMC20211.

Those box are NOT Netflix certified.

Both the JMC30211 and JMC20211 appear in the Bureau of Indian Standards (slow) website if you search for it.

I think FUP limit would be around 2 Mbps which would be fine for video streaming.
2mbps is too slow for a ftth beyond fup, here in Punjab local isp's are providing 10mbps to 20mbps beyond data limit that too Below ₹700. Netplus broadband is providing 50mbps unlimited at 699plusgst. Best of luck to jio with that

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd., announced fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service of Jio GigaFiber at its AGM on August 12. Renamed JioFiber, the service is all set to bring broadband revolution in India from September 5 and believe it or not, it will be for free, at least for the first two months for the preview customers.

Reliance Jio GigaFiber launch: JioFiber to be free for 2 months nationwide!
