It cost be about 30k Inr. I was also considering IV 300. Yamaha seem to be more polished than that of sonys, generally. Also, it is a proper AVR based Home theatre and speakers can be upgraded unlike Sonys. The HT also has more hdmi ports, supposedly more watts than sonys. More importantly, it has burr brown DACs which will be far better than what sony might be using. Other Home theatres from sony, Samsung etc has only one hdmi port. Yamaha has more customisable options like equalisers. Yamahs's speakers are 6 ohm wheres sonys are 3 ohms except center and sub.
The advantages of iv300 over yamaha its 1840 are as follows.
1) Has built in dolby True HD and DTS HD master audio decoders. In my case, these can be decoded with a pc. So, not an issue.
2) Uses less current for working.
3) Can play video files from pen drive. Not many AVRs from yamaha, denon, pioneer or Marantz can do it. You can always play the files in tv or blue ray player.
Will post a review after using a few days. I have no Home Theatre for reference, btw.
