A 24-year-old Noida-based software engineer lost Rs 21,865 after she got trapped by cyber criminals after ordering a burger from the popular outlet Burger King via food delivery platform Swiggy.
However, when she called up a “customer care” number of Swiggy available on the internet, she was asked to provide access to her system via AnyDesk application to process her refund.
While her money was never returned, she lost Rs 21,865 as the number turned out to be of cyber criminals. The contact number used by the woman was in fact a fake number provided by cyber criminals involved in such crime.
