Just as with children, there are occasionally words you’d rather your keyboard didn’t learn from you. If this sounds like something that keeps you awake at night, then you’ll be elated to hear that the latest SwiftKey update has taken the incognito feature out of beta and into the public release.

Incognito mode is accessed via the hamburger menu at the top left of the keyboard. Simply activate it and SwiftKey will temporarily pay no mind to the cussing, x-rated words or other gutter talk you throw at it. I’m sure it’s really designed to avoid having the name of a secret gift show up in the predictive bar when your girlfriend borrows your phone, but yeah, we’re all adults here.

The feature arrives as part of the latest update available in Google Play right now. The update also delivers a few new keyboard layouts for you international types, including QWERTZ for Swiss French as well new extended layouts for Swiss German and Swiss Italian.

Microsoft-owned mobile keyboard firm SwiftKey on Monday launched the transliteration feature in Hindi and Gujarati languages. The company had been working on the phonetic typing or transliteration or multi-script typing for long, and it will let users type in English to form proper Hindi or Gujarati words. SwiftKey already offers keyboards in 22 Indian languages.

In the updated SwiftKey app, which has already rolled out via Google Play, the transliteration feature will be automatically enabled for users who already have Hindi or Gujarati language models installed on their smartphones. This will mean that users when typing in the QWERTY layout will see Hindi or Gujarati words in English letters. One of the highlight features of the SwiftKey app is it provides word suggestions in both scripts, and also shows next word predictions in those languages, all while being in the English keyboard.

As we mentioned, with the new feature, the SwiftKey keyboard app will allow users to type in English and then select matches in Hindi and Gujarati. It allows users to type in English, their native script, or a combination of the two. It is expected to be great addition for users in India, where many users aren't comfortable with typing in Hindi, and it's even more challenging to type on a Hindi keyboard.

Announcing the new feature, Aarti Samani, India Product Manager, said, "SwiftKey's aim is to always make typing easier, particularly if you speak more than one language and want to switch seamlessly between them without changing any of your settings. We're proud to be introducing the feature in Hindi, one of the world's most spoken languages, and Gujarati, which had previously not been possible to write in English letters."

SwiftKey's keyboard app will be taking on
Google's rebranded Hindi Keyboard app which is now known as Indic Keyboard. The Indic Keyboard already supports 10 regional languages, apart from Hindi, including Assamese, Bengali, Gujurati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Other features introduced in the updated SwiftKey app include support for five new languages - Tibetan, Swiss German, Yakut, Low German (Plattdüütsch), and Kurdish (Kurmanji). Also new is the ability to swipe the hamburger menu to see the new hub, which bears the SwiftKey Clipboard, Shortcuts, and Incognito mode.

This is good, they should introduce this feature for all Indian languages!

FYI, The below new features are available in the same update that Rahul bro posted where Hindi and Gujarati typing is added. But these are very important feature hence creating a new thread.

Fans of the popular smartphone keyboard app SwiftKey can check out a new version that’s rolling out to Android today. It includes some new features, such as an easier way to save and send out specific phrases to others.

The app’s new Clipboard feature will let you save specific phrases, such as your favorite greeting or your contact info, which can then be copy and pasted quickly into texts. The Clipboard was previously available in the beta version of the app, but now it’s finally been rolled out to the stable, consumer-ready version.

That’s not all, though. Another new feature is Shortcuts, which lets users set up a short word, such as “Home1” that can expand to a phrase that’s tied into it, like a home address. When the short word is typed, the longer phrase is automatically added to the text.

Finally, the update brings the previously announced Incognito mode, which lets you eliminate certain words and phrases from popping up in the keyboard’s predictions, just in case you want to turn over your phone to a child or other family member.

If you’re a SwiftKey user, head to the Play Store link below to grab the update.
