Yes even I availed it today it covers 5 trips up to a maximum of 25₹ per ticket fare.
I'm a beta tester for the app and they are going to introduce a new feature called Chalo pay, which is a wallet which can be used to buy ticket even when offline inside the bus.

Ok, I don't have a pass which is why perhaps I don't see them. I belive the tap in one has only the QR code option whereas the conductor one has both QR and infrasonic option.

There is message with Scan the QR Code " Please scan the QR code on the ticketing machine at the bus entry gate"
