Jio, BSNL, Vodafone Idea and Airtel increasing tariff from 1st December

Thought about switching to Airtel. Came to know of the message retaining back with jio

First BSNL will give advertisement that they're not increasing any tariff they urge other user to join BSNL by Port in ... Then after 3 months they'll also increase tariff

BSNL's job is to provide communication access to common people. Not to make profit. It's like Doordarshan. Does Doordarshan deserves to shut down too as it can't compete with private channels?

DD is FTA while BSNL is not. I pay money and I expect service and quality.

What were you gonna do in areas where private operators were unwilling to expand?

You are not paying money for BSNL if you don't own a connection. But you are still paying money for Doordarshan even if you don't own a tv.

All our tax goes both to bsnl and DD. It doesn't matter I use or not. When it comes to bsnl, I pay once again for their service. But they are ineligible to provide it.

Govt should give tax relief or any subsidy if private operators operate in locations where they are not ready to operate. Like Naxal regions etc...

They expanded only to please their political masters and to grab headlines in paper. I live in a developed rural place but where is my BSNL network? As long as bsnl is in loss, I am paying money from my pocket. At least with DD we get quality content.

Yeah, DD's fta status and quality content does reflect on BARC's charts.

I wasn't aware about tax payers money bring used for BSNL.
