Both the RCB matches ended in controversies and their actual flaws are being masked due to them. I do agree that pitch played a role in the 1st match and the no-ball in the 2nd, but blaming only those for losses is unacceptable. There are too many issues with the RCB team that they need to address quickly to stand any chance in the tournament.
If we take the 2nd match.
1. After reducing MI for 147/7 with 3 overs to go, it's unacceptable to give away 40 runs in last 3.
2. Death bowling is plain ridiculous with no dependable bowler at this stage. After controlling the game so well in the middle overs, they lost the plot in death.
3. Opening combination is in doldrums, they don't know whom to play along side Parthiv. Stoinis can resolve this problem along with death bowling to an extent, but not completely.
4. Hetmyer is not applying brain according to the situation.
5. Grandhomme is a liability in both batting and bowling.
6. If Stoinis comes in place of Moeen, no backup spinner if Chahal leaks runs. IMO, he should come in place of Grandhomme and open the innings, Moeen should be pushed down the order.
Yes, there was a no ball, but as far as I saw they didn't even take a single. So, the equation would have come down to 4 off 1, and nobody knows what could have happened. Blaming only this for the loss is just living in denial.
