BCCI has referred the CVC Sports matter to the Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta, who represents the board in matters not involving the Government of India.

CVC Sports, which acquired the Ahmedabad franchise for INR 5625 crores, is yet to sign on the dotted lines and receive a Letter of Intent from the BCCI. The American firm has been trying to explain to the BCCI that their investment in a UK betting firm is not illegal.
