Ik that. I'm merely stating the fact how underprepared many teams were. Take SRH for example they spent like 10cr+ for Pooran when they had the chance to go after QDK or Jonny who were much better players than him. They did not do that.. Same with many other franchises who did not even bother to bid for Yuzi Chahal at such a low price. Even RCB wouldn't have expected it will go like that, that's why they broke for Hasaranga. And also time factor is the key bro here, if QDK had come at time of Pooran, he might have gone for more pricing than Pooran. Same goes for Dhawan and Warner too..
What I said was,Many teams were underprepared, which resulted in many bargains. Imo only DC did a great homework, which is why they were able to go after many players with such strict top bids for each of them. They never looked desperate. Even take CSK for example, they were bidding for BABY AB (Brevis), but when reached 3cr ceiling they stopped and he went for MI. Same with many players like FAF, Hazelwood, Warner they went up to 4-5cr and Thakur they went upto 7.5cr. Thats is what I said. I know how desperation results in much bigger bids.
