MS Dhoni has been very accommodating: Stokes

Rising Pune Supergiant taking away captaincy from MS Dhoni and handing it over to Steve Smith was expected to cause a few ripples within the side. At the end of the group stage of IPL 2017, however, they've only emerged richer from it - finishing second on the points table. A lot of Pune's success has been down to how well the pair has worked in tandem.
Ben Stokes, RPS' most valuable player, shared the reason behind the success of a side with stalwarts like Smith and Dhoni working together. "In the hotel, MS keeps his door open and anybody can go in. He's been very accommodating," Stokes told Telegraph on Monday (May 15).

Stokes went on to explain the key role that Dhoni essays behind the stumps, constantly helping Smith with his field placements. "On the field, MS epitomises calmness and, from a cricket point of view, has the best angle in terms of field placements. Obviously, Steve's the captain, but he's aware that MS has the best angle and, so, has worked with him in setting fields. Indeed, Steve and MS have worked really well together," he added.

Stokes, who scored 316 runs and 12 wickets in 12 matches, will not feature in the playoffs as he has already joined up with the national squad in Spain.

Nehra ruled out of remainder of SRH's IPL campaign

Injury has put paid to Nehra's hopes of being part of SRH's playoff campaign for a second straight season.
Injury has put paid to Nehra's hopes of being part of SRH's playoff campaign for a second straight season.
Tom Moody, Sunrisers Hyderabad coach, confirmed that veteran India pacer Ashish Nehra has been ruled out of the remainder of Indian Premier League (IPL) X on the eve of his team's eliminator match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Bengaluru.
"Ashish Nehra won't be fit for remainder of the tournament," said Moody on Tuesday (May 16).

"Yuvraj will be undergoing a fitness test this evening. We'll be giving him every opportunity to prove his fitness and at this stage, we're reasonably confident."

The 36-year-old pacer had pulled up with a hamstring trouble while bowling his second over during SRH's home game against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) on May 6 and had subsequently missed the remaining league matches of the franchise. Consequent scans revealed a hamstring injury, but the franchise kept their options open even as they waited on their most experienced pacer to recover in time for the playoffs.
Nehra had his hamstring operated upon last year, but SRH mentor, VVS Laxman, had mentioned after the Pune game that the new injury was a different one and not the same for which he had undergone an operation.

Adding further anxiety to the team, SRH are also sweating over the fitness of star batsman, Yuvraj Singh. The 35-year-old missed SRH's last league match against Gujarat Lions (GL) with a sore finger, which he sustained while fielding during the match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 8. Yuvraj is expected to undergo a fitness test ahead of the Eliminator clash before a final call is taken regarding his participation.
