RE: Indian Premier League 2017 {S-10} Discussion & Updates
So before we gear up for the 2017 IPL auctions, here's a set of rules which every RCB fan must know:
General auction rules:
Each franchise can stack up to 27 players in their squad, out of which they are allowed to have 9 foreign players.
Each franchise has been allotted with a purse of 66 CR for the auctions. The amount will be deducted from the sum of their retained players and the money remaining will be their purse for the auction day.
The auction list for players will be divided into pools based on the role of the particular player. For eg: Batsmen, Bowlers, Wicketkeepers, etc.
As soon as the auctioneer announces the name of the player, franchises can start bidding by lifting their auction paddle
.
This will go on until other franchises back down and only one franchise remains in the fray. The auctioneer will then announce that the player is sold.
If no franchise raises the paddle, the player will go unsold and will return to the auction booth. If the franchises wish to buy these unsold players, they return in the second round of the auction. Their base price will be reduced to the half of it.
