RE: Iphone 5 Specification

Well on the launch of I-Phone 4S Tim cook did say they could release I-Phone 5 by next april or may but no specifications were given and mostly these specifications are based on some rumors.

'Apple launching iPhone 5 in June'

NEW DELHI: For Apple aficionados, here's good news: iPhone 5 is reportedly set to launch in the coming June. According to a report in CNet, Apple is likely to launch its next-generation iPhone during its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) scheduled for June 11 to 15, 2012.

The report quotes a television report by TV Tokyo in which a Foxconn recruiter has claimed that Apple plans to hire some 18,000 workers to meet its June deadline for iPhone 5 manufacturing. Foxconn Technology Group is one of biggest suppliers of Apple.

With this launch, Apple is expected to return to its normal iPhone launch cycle. For, except for iPhone 4S which was launched in October 2011, all the previous-generation iPhones have been launched during Apple's WWDC event.

Some earlier reports in South Korean media too suggested June launch for the sixth-generation iPhone. These reports also said that the new iPhone will have a sharper and bigger 4.6-inch "retina" display. The high-definition "retina" display -- containing several times as many pixels within the same area -- is used in the latest iPad launched last month.

Sales of the iPhone, first introduced in 2007 with the touch screen template now adopted by its rivals, account for around half of Apple's total sales.

iPhone 5 may debut in October: Analyst

SAN FRANCISCO: Apple Inc's next iPhone is likely to be introduced in October and will feature a new body design and work with faster wireless networks, according to Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray Cos who had expected an August release for the top-selling smartphone.

In a note, Munster wrote that October is more probable after chipmaker Qualcomm Inc announced it is having trouble meeting demand for components that the analyst expects to be included in a new iPhone. The supply constraints, along with Verizon Wireless reporting a drop in iPhone sales, contributed to a 3.4 per cent decline in Apple shares today.

The iPhone is Apple's top-selling product, accounting for 53 per cent of its sales in the quarter that ended last December. Apple hasn't discussed plans for the next version's release. Munster, who has correctly predicted the release of previous Apple products, said in the note that Qualcomm's radio chips that allow for faster connection to the Internet will be included in the next-generation iPhone.

Apple released the iPhone 4S, the current version, in October of last year. Munster said the release of the new model should lead investors to raise their projections for financial results in the quarter ending in December 2012. The analyst wrote that he had previously modeled for the iPhone to be unveiled in August.

LTE wireless

By working with new so-called long-term evolution, or LTE, wireless networks being built by carriers such as AT&T Inc and Verizon Wireless, iPhone users would have a faster connection for data-heavy tasks such as browsing the Web, watching videos and downloading files.

Cupertino, California-based Apple, the world's most valuable company, fell to $587.44 at the close in New York. The shares have risen 45 per cent this year.

Verizon Wireless, the second-biggest US phone network, said iPhone sales fell to 3.2 million from 4.3 million in the previous quarter, when the 4S model was released.

iPhone 5’s Bigger Screen Less and Less a Rumor (Reuters)

The iPhone 5 will almost certainly have a bigger screen, as reported by people familiar with the situation according to Reuters.

Apple has reportedly tapped suppliers in Japan and South Korea to create 4-inch displays (measured on the diagonal), which would increase the real estate by 30 percent, these people said. Apple currently uses a 3.5-inch display in all of its iPhone models, the latest of which feature higher-resolution versions - Retina displays.

Early production of the new displays is said to have commenced at three suppliers, namely Korea's LG Display, Japan’s Sharp, and Japan Display.

Production of the next-generation iPhone is said to be planned for August, which would corroborate many analysts’ beliefs that Apple will hold a special event in fall to unveil the product.

Apple’s iPhone 5 Was Personally Designed by Steve Jobs (Bloomberg)

The next iPhone about to be unveiled has been personally designed by Steve Jobs, at least in part, according to people with knowledge of the situation speaking to Bloomberg.

Apple has reportedly tapped suppliers for larger screens this time around. The phone has Steve Jobs’ fingerprints on it, as the CEO worked closely with Apple’s design team before the pancreatic cancer ultimately claimed his life.

The report reinforces claims of Apple having worked on the phone even before the 4S was unveiled in October, last year.

“Jobs, who had gone on medical leave from Apple starting last January, played a key role in developing the phone,” reports Bloomberg, citing one of the people involved with the project.

The next-generation iPhone is expected to launch this fall. In addition to the larger screen, other technical changes will reportedly include a redesigned dock connector, LTE / 4G cellular networking, a complete redesign of the chassis, a potentially improved set of cameras on the front and back of the phone, and likely more.

The chassis could be crafted from Liquidmetal, a material to which Apple has exclusive rights for use in its products.

The amorphous metal alloy permits sleek and durable designs, eliminating joints and screws as the material is twisted and bent under pressure, and finally molded to achieve sharp corners, seams, etc.

It is believed that this year’s iPhone refresh was actually planned for 2011, when Apple launched the iPhone 4S looking identical to its predecessor, the iPhone 4. Production hurdles reportedly forced Apple to postpone the major redesign for a year.

The smartphone will launch pre-installed with iOS 6, according to post pundits voicing their opinions on the matter. The software itself may be unveiled as early as next month at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference.

'iPhone 5 test sample' images Leaked

Images of an Apple device, supposedly the next-generation iPhone or iPhone 5, have surfaced on the internet. A website called KitGuru has published these pictures of the device, which boasts of a larger screen and other modifications, in line with the ongoing rumours about the next iPhone.
.

KitGuru's Yong Lei has posted, "Out in the Far East, an early iPhone 5 has been spotted and we have managed to capture its reflected photons." The post on the website goes on to call these images 'pre-release test samples' that are likely to be 'cleaned up' before the production model is unveiled.

The news report also said, "While Apple will have been looking at the increased size of the Samsung screens, there are some limitations for Apple based on the '1x' and '2x' nature of its app sizes. Also, Jobs wanted to keep a clear distinction between what is a tablet and what is a phone. As a result, the screen on the iPhone 5 is bigger - but not by much."

Speculations have been rife in the smartphone industry that the upcoming iPhone will have a larger screen coupled with modified casing and micro-dock. The headphone jack is also speculated to be relocated to the bottom.

The leaked images of the supposed iPhone 5 show a device with a smaller dock connector and a 4-inch screen with resolution of 1136x640, consistent with the rumours. Apart from these, other modifications seen in the leaked pictures include large grills for the speaker and microphone, and a headphone jack, which is now placed at the bottom of the device.

The upcoming iPhone 5 is widely rumoured to be unveiled in September, though the Cupertino-based company has made no official confirmation.

Earlier, the same website had reported that the launch date of iPhone 5 has been pushed ahead to August in order to compete better against Samsung Galaxy S III.

There have been many rumours and leaks about the device. The latest post by Know Your Mobile has pegged the launch date for the much anticipated smartphone at least 3 months ahead of the day when iPhone 4S was unveiled.

Moreover, this launch date will be ahead of the scheduled roll out of iOS 6, which is said to be launched this September. It is anticipated that the upcoming iPhone will be shipped with the latest version of Apple's operating system.
The highly rumored smartphone is expected to arrive with iOS 6 operation system. The new operating system has been branded by Apple as the 'world's most advanced mobile operating system,' and is likely to bring Facebook and iCloud integration, along with tweaks to camera, maps and an updated UI.

We have heard a lot of rumors about the device but very few details have actually been confirmed. The Apple iPhone 5 is expected to sport a 4-inch Retina display laced with liquipel coating, NFC, 1GB RAM along with a longer-lasting battery, updated Siri version and a smaller dock connector.
These include larger screen size, quad core processor, NFC capabilities, Liquidmetal design and repositioned headphone jack, among others.

Recently, two websites released leaked photos of the still-in-production iPhone with a larger touchscreen and modifications consistent with the rumours, such as relocated headphone jack and larger speaker and microphone grills.
