Breaking Gujarat Election - Results | Discussion

Of the 30-odd seats that Arvind Kejriwal's AAP contested in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly election, the party ended up playing an (unwilling) foil in two. In nearly all the remaining seats, the AAP candidates lost their deposits, with some of them even polling votes in two digits.

Good result. A jolt is necessary. Rubber stamp remote control from dilli will not work. There are lot of local leaders, but dilliwalas want full control. Biggest mistake was removing anandiben. These two chief ministers are useless and they themselves know it. Before they loose the state next time, they must find a 40-50 year old leader who can become cm of guj for next 15 years. Also, real work is required. But bjp cannot be blamed for this. They dont have majority in rajyasabha. And without that, hard reforms are almost impossible. A joint session for each bill is not good. Middle of 2018 rajyasabha may have different numbers. So winter session of 2018 should be used fo passing maximum bills.

100% Match Between EVMs and Paper Trail Slips on Random Vote Count, Says EC Official

"There was a 100 percent match in the results of the EVM and the slips produced by the paper trail machines," the official of the election machinery said.

The polling stations were decided through a draw of lots in which the candidates or their agents were also present.

The EC had decided to match the tally in select polling stations amid allegations that the EVMs were compromised to help the BJP.

"This was basically a confidence-building exercise. We did this at one polling booth each in all the 182 seats after the counting ended today. At all these booths, vote count of a randomly selected EVM matched with the slips of the connected VVPAT. There was no mismatch at any of the booths," he said.

IT dept is a govt dept. So no question there.
ECI can do whatever it wants, it is autonomous, just because you don't like what is happening doesn't mean it is a puppet of the govt.
