Its gonna be BJP again in 2019. I support BJP for the good they have got to our nation in just 3 years. A lot for good things are on its way. We Indians cannot take any change easily, as we are used to the same thing since last 70 years.

They bring some bad things also don't forget to mention it bro every coin having two faces see both the faces instead of one

Finally someone talking sense - "This is a very, very imperfect GST, says Chidambaram".
  • The Congress will press for a reduction in tax rates and demand a cap of 18 per cent
  • It is a mockery of the GST. When we have rates such as 0.25, 3, 5, 12, 18, 28 and 40, and possibly more: Chidambaram
The Modi government's Goods and Services Tax (GST) law is not the legislation that had been envisaged by the Congress, senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram said here on Thursday, stressing that it cannot be labelled ‘one nation, one tax’, as it has seven or more tax rates.

The Congress, he said, will demand a reduction in tax rates and press for a cap of 18%, and the inclusion of petroleum products, electricity and real estate in the new tax regime, the former Finance Minister said.

Authorities and businesses were “unprepared or under-prepared” for the roll-out of GST, he said, adding that its launch should have been deferred by two months and the GSTN (Goods and Services Tax Network) should have been put through a trial run for about two months, and the actual roll out should have been September 1.

“This is a very, very imperfect law. This is not the GST that we [the UPA] had envisaged...What has been implemented is a GST with seven, or possibly more, rates. It is a mockery of GST,” Mr. Chidambaram said, adding, “When we have [percentage] rates like 0.25, 3, 5, 12, 18, 28 and 40, and possibly more, because of the discretion vested with State governments, how can we call this a 'one nation, one tax regime’?”

More: GST regime not as envisaged by Congress, says P. Chidambaram

Chidambaram would have never been able to pass his bill in Rajya Sabha, it won't be acceptable to states at all. And Congress is opposed due to political reasons more than logical ones. Chidambaram is a master of fake logical convincing. Now don't get offeneded just because he is a Tamilian. I have read all Chidambaram's articles (Almost each & everyone in last 1.5-2yrs, before that sometimes), he is a master at making such arguments, which turn hollow once you find the fallacy.
And GST with slabs is present in other countries too. A flat rate will only be more harsh on poor & joy for the rich. If you say exempt all items poor use and keep a flat rate of 18%, then govt will have no money to run its schemes & subsidies.(like the ones you want in TN).
People don't want to pay income tax properly & they cry when some steps are taken to stop that.

Anyways, for others: I would still say those who comment without reading & knowing well, it's not about supporting BJP or any party. It is supporting a reform/issue. When you have studied, you will have an idea what will be better for future. So please, study. Don't rely on some whatsapp forwards and forum discussions. Most of them are just crap with wrong information & waste of time. Invest your time in reading, you will have better returns.
