I just found a way to enable Google assistant in android marshmallow and above on the internet. Don't know if it has been shared here before. Considering it only is available for US and some other locations right now, it's working really well except for some features like News etc. Which haven't yet been optimised for Indian users. [emoji106]

It should work if you change region and language just like we did in cortana when it was not available in India.

Yep, change language to English (US), and sign up for beta Google App and Google Play services. Install two updates of approx. 28 MB each for the two apps, restart phone and hold home key.
The news feature is still not optimised but rest all works fine, like general inquiries, day planner, information about booked flights from your gmail, movies, social networks, calling, text etc.

 
My phone is running on 5.1 so officially no assistant but thanks to xda we hv a way to make it work.
