Vodafone said in a letter to Trai says Reliance Jio has been telling customers to quickly recharge to avail the benefits of the Summer Surprise offer
New Delhi: Telecom operator Vodafone on Monday complained to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) that Reliance Jio is still “luring customers” to subscribe the ‘Summer Surprise’ offer despite the regulator finding it in violation of norms.
“Reliance Jio is continuing with this offer held as not meeting regulatory norms, in the garb of configuration changes. For past three days, it has been promoting and luring customers to quickly recharge to avail the benefits of a non-compliant offer and also asking its retailers to communicate the same,” Vodafone said in a letter to Trai.
Bro, we don't know whether TRAI gave any deadline to Jio to stop offering this offer (compliant or not is not the issue here).
Similarly, Airtel was asked to take down or modify the fastest network advertisement (as it was false/non-compliant). But they are still showing that advt, I watched it today. Though in that case the regulator clearly mentioned the end date as 11 April.
