For me it appears like they are trying to fool customers.
If they have huge pre-bookings they can raise price as they wish? They will have option to play with prices as they know pre-bookings already :(
exactly and no refund means all those cancellation will be a sufficient earning/profit for platform irrespective of actual sale numbers.

similar trends also happening in case of lunch of new 2/4wheel vehicle- prebook/book even before price is reveled

Finally I am happy that customers have ditched much hyped flipkart iPhone sale programme
 
It's extremely risky ordering during midnight. The traffic is very high. Many of my friends' and relatives' money got debited, but Flipkart couldn't confirm the order. Now they are waiting helplessly for the refund, so that they can place order again.
