Pointless speaking of the past. Its like asking why Tata Cellular was charging 12rupees/minute outgoing and 6rupees/minute incoming back in 1999. Times change.

And this ain't any comparison to make. Each company to their own. Airtel, Vodafone, Idea provide services in a manner they want to. Jio and BSNL provide the services they want to. Ultimately, we choose what we want. For example, based on your post I assume you are happy with Jio and you choose Jio. I am happy with BSNL and I use BSNL.

Your comparison has nothing to do with Airtel, Vodafone, Idea charging these new rates. Each has their own business models and kinds of services they provide.
If you forgot im talking about Services which AVoId is providing so how is not related?

@maxwell bro, Dial *121# from your Airtel SIM and wait for the menu to appear ... then follow the on screen options ...
You will find the Rs 35/ Recharge in New Offer --> Smart Recharge Or you can select My Offer ....
Finally you will have to press 1 to confirm .....
thank you bro im on intl roaming validity increased.

How many of you have eventually given in and recharged with Rs 35 (or higher) in spite of having Lifetime Validity?

previously my main balance date was showing as 30/11/2018 now it is showing as 10/12/2018.
i don't know how they increased the date, recently i have recharged Rs.10:unsure:
Yes the validity of 10 rupees recharge is 7-10 days only.

@hike bro, the Rs 10 recharge has no "outgoing validity". It was confusing a few days back but now Vodafone has updated on their website. So a Rs 10 recharge will only add talktime to main balance and will not affect the Outgoing Validity.

The increase in validity is being done by operators due to interfering by TRAI. Vodafone gave 3 additional days, Airtel has given 10 additional days.

Had to do it on a Vodafone number at my place because they decreased the validity from 2021 to Nov. 30th, 2018. Will wait and watch for a couple of months for things to stabilize. If it continues, then porting to BSNL.

Due to backlash from customers, and intervention by TRAI, Vodafone now allows you to use your existing balance to activate a pack, however, the catch is that this may be done only before your Outgoing Validity expires, so that means, once every 28 days.

What I could observe is, if we are able to use main balance to activate these packs for Outgoing Validity, then:
Activate using main balance:
Rs 95: Gives back Full talktime of Rs95 and also 500MB data, increases Outgoing Validity by 28 days.
Rs 145: Gives back Full talktime of Rs145 and also 1GB data, increases Outgoing Validity by 42 days.
Rs 245: Gives back Full talktime of Rs 245 and also 1GB data, increases Outgoing Validity by 84 days.

Effectively, for no loss, you get additional 4G data as per the above chosen pack, and the Outgoing Validity increases too.

To use this option, dial *111# on your Vodafone Prepaid and follow the prompts. Choose Combo Plan / Combo Pack and activate one of the above plans. You will get back full talktime and Outgoing Validity will also increase.

Hope this helps all bros who are in a dilemma of what to do. Effective Recurring Cost per month = Rs 0. Initial minimum cost = Rs 95 (considering you have no balance in your account, else initial cost also = Rs 0).

To use this option, dial *199# on your Vodafone Prepaid and follow the prompts. Choose Combo Plan / Combo Pack and activate one of the above plans. You will get back full talktime and Outgoing Validity will also increase.

Do they give balance in main account or dedicate account ? Because in Airtel if we activate Smart recharge validity plans using main account balance we will get balance in dedicated account with 28days validity.

Currently, Vodafone is adding in the main account. So the Talktime valdity stays unlimited, and Outgoing Validity increases by 28 days.
