flipkart selling at 2598/- and amazon selling at 1999
ridiculously increased price

Reason might be: Sad News - New e-commerce rules made Amazon India remove tons of products from their store

Many fake sellers also arrived.

Is there any way i can get the device at 999

You can't hope much until govt. re-modifies their latest online sell regulations.

Price of 1999 was same as it was in 2018

The price of Airtel Hotspot and Jio-Fi was Rs. 999 at Amazon Great Indian Sale (Oct or Nov 2018 ). After sale ended the price increased. Again, at Amazon Great Indian (freedom) Sale (Jan 2019) price of Jio-Fi reduced to 999 but Airtel Hotspot price remained same . I was looking to buy but, Airtel Hotspot price didn't reduce.

Yes they only reduce price when there is sale .

Today I went to Airtel store to buy 4g Hotspot device but they are forcing me to buy 4 month 399 postpaid plan. Device price is 999 but I don't want to buy postpaid plan. So can I dump that postpaid sim after purchasing the Device.
