Sorry to bug you more and more. Do we need to wipe data before restore or the restore process itself will take care of them?
Please wipe data, cache, dalvic, system before restore.

You will have to wipe the data or it will not install the update so better take backup of all

Also have you installed CWM on your phone without that you will not be able to install the cyanogen mod

He already stated he installed CWM. But it's an older version and hence only JB ROM can be installed using that.

I was asking this to do it at the time of restore back my JB in case if I am having issues in Kit Kat. As per ilikered bro, I have to wipe and then restore the backup copy instead of installing JB ROM zip. Thanks by the way.

..

I am also trying to backup all my Apps, SMS, Contacts as it is at the time of upgrade and import it back on newly installed Kit Kat. Found some information on this activity too but don't have the links now on hand.

Also you can use the factory reset option maybe that may help you to go back to previous version

I think that will take me to ICS or JB (un-rooted). I took the backup after rooting. Can I still restore the backup on the factory version? Or it can be done after rooting with same Kernel? I think the second option will work.
