The process will be device specific. Link you posted is for Note 3. Sadiq may very well brick his S2 if he follows it. Should be careful with these.

Yes that is for note 3 but somewhat it is similar in all Samsung devices

In my view don't update to newer version if u don't know about it as it cause problems with the phone sometimes it may lag or consume lot of battery or some apps too won't work so be very sure if you want to update it as it is not an official update also make sure that it is spam free and virus free

As you know, every single device is different. We shouldn't take risk thinking that the process is "somewhat" similar. Specific steps should be followed.

Thanks Sanjeev and ilikered.

@ilikered: Yes, the backup was taken using the Jelly Bean Kernel Siyah (rooted). So as you said, I can restored backup after flashing the same Kernel. I assume, I don't need to install JB ROM for this restoration. Please confirm if you are aware of this.

@Sanjeev: The build is from CM11 nightlies. As far as I reviewed, there is no SPAM or VIRUS found. I am actually checking for a stable build from CM11. If you can see a stable CM11 build somewhere, please share the link to download the same. I think I can use the same CM11 Recovery Kernel for any of the build (version 6.0.4.3 or higher). Right now, I am at office (yes at office :(), so I cannot access the videos. I will check it tonight.

Thanks both for your help. Till now there is no reply from XDA on my thread over there.

One more question. Can we flash the original Kitkat 4.4.x versions using custom ROM? If yes, can we get the original firmware?

Yeah, having the kernel on which the backup was taken should be enough to restore it.

Original Kitkat 4.4.x versions? What exactly is that?

Sorry to bug you more and more. Do we need to wipe data before restore or the restore process itself will take care of them?
