The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) today allotted the numbering level for basic services to state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for Delhi and Mumbai LSAs. DoT has allocated the numbering level after the approval of DDG (AS) post request from BSNL for allocated of numbering level in Delhi and Mumbai.
In Delhi LSA, BSNL has been allocated numbering level ‘2440-2449’ whereas in Mumbai LSA, BSNL has been allocated numbering level ‘2070-2079’. The numbering level allocated to BSNL in Mumbai will be enough for one lakh MSN.
The wireline numbering levels were earlier allocated to state owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited. DoT has withdrawn the numbering level from MTNL with immediate effect due to non-utilization of the numbering levels allocated to MTNL.
DoT had earlier this week accepted the request from state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for allocation of 1 lakh additional 13 digit M2M numbering series in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu LSAs.
