Samsung Galaxy A12 launched in India with 48MP quad camera and 5,000mAh battery

The handset will be available to purchase via both online and offline channels from 17th February onwards.

South Korean smartphone maker Samsung has launched its first A-series smartphone of 2021, the Galaxy A12 in India as the successor of Galaxy A11 which was launched last year.

Specifications 

The Samsung Galaxy A12 features a 6.5-inch HD+ TFT Infinity-V display with a resolution of 720 x 1500 pixels, waterdrop notch, 20:9 aspect ratio and 60Hz refresh rate. It has a plastic back with matte finish. 

This smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chipset paired with PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 4GB RAM, and up to 128GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card up to 1TB.

In terms of cameras, there is a quad-camera set up on the back comprising of a 48MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor for portrait, and a 2MP macro sensor for close up shots. On the front, you get an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calling. 

The handset is having a 5,000mAh battery that only 15W charging through USB Type-C port. It runs on OneUI 2.5 based on Android 10. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted. Other connectivity features and sensors include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.

Pricing and Launch Offers

The Samsung Galaxy A12 price starts at Rs 12,999 for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option is priced at Rs. 13,999. It will be available in three colour options: Black, Blue and White. The handset will be available to purchase via both online and offline channels from 17th February onwards. 

The company has also introduced some launch offers to sweeten the deal. Apart from no-cost EMI, Jio users will get cashback worth Rs 3,000 on prepaid recharge of Rs 349 plan and vouchers worth Rs 4,000 for shopping from partners. Vi users, on the other hand, will get double data on recharging with Rs 299 plan for up to 3 months or 3 recharges.
