Amazon, on Monday, launched the Prime Video Mobile Edition in India. Last year, the company partnered with Airtel to offer the Prime Video Mobile Edition on select prepaid plans, and the telco also provided a free 30-day trial. Now the e-commerce giant has expanded the Prime Video Mobile Edition to all customers in the country.
“Guided by our mission of making high-quality entertainment even more accessible across the country, we are excited to launch Prime Video Mobile Edition annual plan. This worldwide-first innovation saw an incredible response from Indian consumers when we launched via a telecom association last year, and building on that success we are extending its access, with it now being made available directly for subscription through Prime Video’s app and website,” said Gaurav Gandhi, vice president, Prime Video India.
The Prime Video Mobile Edition costs Rs. 599 per year and offers users to view movies and TV shows on a single mobile device. Further, users can stream shows in standard definition (SD) quality. Users will also have access to Live cricket and other Prime Video features, including X-ray powered by IMDb and downloads for offline viewing.
However, the Prime Video Mobile Edition does not come with other Amazon Prime benefits, including Amazon Music, fast delivery, and early access to deals. Customers who want to access the full Amazon Prime benefits can choose the Rs. 1,499 annual plan.
Users can purchase the yearly subscription to Prime Video Mobile Edition via the Prime Video mobile app on Android devices or by visiting the Prime Video website. Prime Video Mobile Edition users will also have the option to upgrade anytime to enjoy the full benefits of Amazon Prime.
