Bharti Airtel has expanded its prepaid plan offerings with the addition of Rs 179 prepaid plan. The new plan comes with data, SMS and truly unlimited calling benefits. Airtel is also offering access to Airtel Xstream App and Wynk Music as additional benefits. The Rs 179 prepaid plan comes bundled with Rs 2 lakh Bharti Axa Life Insurance. The new plan has made its entry just 2 weeks after Airtel launched Rs 279 and Rs 379 prepaid plans.
According to the listing on the Airtel app, the Rs 179 prepaid plan offers 2 GB of high speed data, truly unlimited calls and 300 SMS for 28 days. The prepaid plan also offers Bharti Axa Life Insurance worth Rs 2 lakh along with additional benefits such as Airtel Xstream app and Wynk Music.
The Rs 179 prepaid plan is a modified version of the Rs 149 prepaid plan offering Life Insurance as additional benefit for a cost of extra Rs 30. Interestingly Bharti Axa is the Life Insurance partner for this plan whereas the Rs 279 prepaid plan comes with HDFC Life Insurance worth Rs 4 lakh.
Before the tariff hike, Airtel used to offer Life Insurance on its Rs 249 prepaid plan and Rs 599 prepaid plan. With the introduction of this new plan, Airtel is now offering Life Insurance on two of its plans post tariff hike. The latest plan sits alongside the existing 16 unlimited prepaid plans taking the count to 17.
