Adani Group today clarified that it will be participating in the upcoming 5G spectrum auction with the aim to provide private network solutions. The company’s interest in the 5G space is currently limited with no intention on its part to enter into the consumer mobility space.

The company is one of the many applicants participating in the open bidding process. The upcoming auction is the precursor to the rollout of next-generation 5G services in India. As per the NIA for the auction, yesterday was the last date for the submission of applications by prospective applicants.

Adani Group will offer private network solutions along with enhanced cyber security in ports & logistics, airports, power generation, transmission, distribution, and various manufacturing operations.

Also, if we are awarded 5G spectrum in the open bidding, it will also align with our recent announcement of significantly increasing the Adani Foundation’s investments in Education, Healthcare and Skill Development in rural areas, each of which stands to benefit from 5G technology.

– Spokesperson, Adani Group

The company is also building its own digital platform encompassing super apps, edge data centres, and industry command and control centres. The company will need ultra high-quality data streaming capabilities through a high frequency and low latency 5G network across all its nominees.

Adani into telecom sector. Big chance for him to get BSNL+Vi.

Adani might build a company from scratch like Ambani did with Jio. Why would he want to take on the debt of Vi? But yes deep pockets will help him get ample spectrum to be able to build a robust network and this will increase the competition in the market and lead to subscriber churn and the worst hit would be Vi. They may be pushed to bankruptcy and then have to be sold for parts. That's when Ambani and Adani could pick up it's key assets at scrap price rather than taking on the company's debt.

vi case above could be very much possible . till now no sign of govt equity, meaning investors still at outside door, is very risky situation and i m only forecasting vi becoming regional player in next 3 years if not get bankrupt . vodafone solid proposal killed birla's telecommunications business started in 1996-97. and this make space for new players Mr adani

Selling spectrum of bankrupt telco rcom/aircel is 100% impossible with current regulation .
although new guidelines make telco surrender newly acquired spectrum at zero cost. thus to buy spectrum related right to use asset require modification in licenses conditions which DOT will definitely do on request from Mr ambani and Adani. just to give reference . before jio therr were no guidelines for spectrum trading or sharing .

i think adani aim building 5g network is to serve and play in areas of where private captive network wont able to do by its own. Adani already have many ports/factories and expanding to petrochemical and data center business, these organization are badly needs private network . so adani entry into telecom is just like Backward integration with data channel, read telecom network , services.

in simple understand , why would NGO and private-public partnerships model is working and flourishes is just because govt is unable due to many constraint like effective execution.

adani is having limited exposure in b2c or retail thus its very less likely that general retail consume would get any sim frim adani 5g, mostly it will be esim for m2m network or mvno buying bulk from adani core 5g/6g networks .
