Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom operator by subscriber has launched a new prepaid plan strengthening its portfolio of high speed unlimited prepaid plans. Jio earlier today launched its Rs 999 prepaid plan which offers 3 GB per day high-speed data with a validity of 84 days.
Jio’s Rs 999 prepaid plan offers 252 GB of total data spread over 84 days. It offers 3 GB high-speed data per day followed by a stunted speed of 64 Kbps. On the voice calling front, it offers Jio to Jio unlimited calling, with 3000 minutes of Jio to Non-Jio calling. It also offers 100 SMS per day along with a complimentary subscription to Jio Apps.
To recall, Vodafone Idea offers 28 days and 56 days pack which provides 3 GB high-speed data per day. The former is priced at Rs 398 while the latter is priced at Rs 558. Airtel offers the same prepaid plans at the same price. However, neither have 84 days prepaid plan offering 3 GB high speed per day. Jio, on the other hand, earlier only offered 28 days pack offering 3 GB high speed per day. The pack is slightly costly given the fact Vodafone Idea and Airtel users can get 3 GB/day for 84 days with a combo of Rs 558 and Rs 398 plan at only Rs 956. Separately, VIL is offering 3 GB/day for 84 days at Rs 599 under the Double Data offer, altho it is a limited period offer only.
In other news, OnlyTech earlier on Tuesday reported the introduction of a 24 hours grace period of unlimited on-net calling after plan expiry. While earlier we had noticed the grace plan on an expired Rs 98 plan, we have come across the same grace plan on an expired Rs 555 prepaid plan earlier today. Reliance Jio earlier today told OnlyTech that the grace plan is applicable to all prepaid recharges.
