India’s leading telecom service provider Reliance Jio has continued to remain the fastest mobile network in October with an average download speed of 17.8 megabits per second (Mbps). while Vodafone recorded the highest average upload speed of 6.5 megabits per second (Mbps), according to the latest data from telecom regulator TRAI released yesterday.
Idea Cellular network (now Vodafone Idea) followed Reliance Jio with download speed of 9.1 Mbps, Vodafone 8.8 Mbps, and Airtel at 7.5 Mbps according to the TRAI data uploaded on 12 November.
Idea Cellular network followed Vodafone with 5.9 Mbps upload speed, Airtel 3.8 Mbps, and Jio at 3.5 Mbps.

Even though Vodafone and Idea have merged businesses, TRAI continues to measure the performance separately since they are yet to completely integrate their networks.

TRAI has computed the results through the average of the data speed samples collected from various consumers of the TSPs on a crowd sourcing basis during speed test initiated by them over the last 6 months and background tests initiated by MySpeed App over last month.
