The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) last week allocated MSC code to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited and Bharti Hexacom Limited. The allocation has been made as a special case to cater to the requirement of the numbering series for the ‘Mukhyamantri Digital Seva Yojana’ of the Rajasthan Government.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited has been allocated MSC codes 92520-92529, 92610-92619, and 92690-92699 for Rajasthan LSA. Bharti Hexacom Limited has been allocated MSC codes 92560-92569, 92570-92579, and 92160-92169 for Rajasthan LSA. The allocated MSC codes can be used by the telecom service providers except for the active subscribers of Tata Teleservices Limited and other port-out subscribers.

The Telecom Department has instructed Reliance Jio and Bharti Hexacom to submit a VLR certificate and utilization data to assess the effective utilization of numbering resources. The allocation shall not be treated as precedence for any future allocation as per DoT.
