The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) today modified the numbering level allocated to Reliance Jio for Delhi LSA last month. In partial modification of its letter dated 25th January 2021 to Reliance Jio, the wireline numbering level allocated to the telecom service provider for Delhi LSA will now be read as level ‘310’.
For the unversed, DoT last month allocated Reliance Jio wireline numbering level ‘370’ for basic services in Delhi LSA. The new numbering level was to be used for utilization in Noida by Reliance Jio. The company had told DoT that due to the division of numbering resources within Delhi LSA the number utilization for Noida had been very high resulting in numbering resources not being available for allocation to enterprise customers.
“This is in partial modification to DoT letter no. 16-03/2019-AS-III/MSC/414 dated 25.01.2021 (copy enclosed), the wireline numbering level 370′ allocated to M/s Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited for Delhi LSA may now be read as level 310′,” said DoT in its order.
DoT separately today accepted the request from state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for allocation of 1 lakh additional 13 digit M2M numbering series in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu LSAs.
