Disney+ Hotstar August 2021: Cruella, Vacation Friends, The Empire, Bhuj, What If…?, and more

The platform is set to bring 30+ new and returning titles this August across various genres.

This August is gonna be a movie extravagance at Disney+ Hotstar as the platform has lined up five features. Under Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex, the platform is premiering the long-awaited feature Bhuj: The Pride of India starring the A-list stars Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sanjay Dutt among others on August 13 coinciding the Indian Independence week and on the same day, the platform will also premiere the Tamil remake of blockbuster Korean film Blind, Netrikann starring Nayantara in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

On the Disney+ front, the platform will premiere Emma Stone’s summer blockbuster Cruella on August 27 directly on the service and on the same day debuting on the service is John Cena’s Hulu and Star original film Vacation Friends, where he and Meredith Hanger crashes their Vacation Friends wedding uninvited. Lastly, the first Disney Channel Original film led by Indian-American Spin starring Avantika Vandanapu and Abhay Deol is set to premiere on August 15 along with the sister channel Disney International HD.

Disney+ original series set to debut this August are Marvel Studios’ first animated show What If…?, which explores what happens if an important moment goes sideways. The series premieres on August 11 with new episodes every Wednesday. For the first time ever, the platform is debuting all the episodes of a fiction series with the returning season of Diary of a Future President on August 18. All episodes of National Geographic’s Growing Up Animal will also debut on the same day.

Hotstar Specials will bring their biggest series yet with The Empire, a historical fiction drama showrunned by Nikhil Advani. The series stars Kunal Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, and Drishti Dami among others. Although the series is set to premiere in August, no concrete date is set yet. The platform will also premiere the tenth season of FX’s hit anthology drama series, American Horror Story: Double Feature on August 26 and the new seasons of ShowTime’s comedies Work in Progress and The L Word: Generation Q on August 23 and August 9 respectively. The titles that are premiering are marked in bold for your convenience.

Apart from the aforementioned titles, the platform is also set to bring the fixtures from English Premier League, TNPL, F1, FE, and One Championships among others. All the titles mentioned are exclusive to the premium tier for the last time this month as from September, Disney+ Hotstar is going to revamp the plans and they will offer subscribers access to all the content on the platform for the first time.

They may bring FX’s Reservation Dogs, I dought about Only Murders In The Building. Glad I have Hulu, I don’t have to be dependent on Disney+ Hotstar.
