BARC- Nielsen in its report titled “Deep dive into content and consumption as Originals return on TV” has revealed top direct OTT releases, news, original and syndicated series across platforms on smartphones between 1st July and 21st August.
Top Direct to Digital Hindi movies across platforms
In direct to digital Hindi movies segment, Disney+ Hotstar’s Dil Bechara tops the list followed by the platform’s Khuda Haafiz and Lootcase respectively in thier first week of release. Prime Video’s lone title Sakuntala Devi came in forth position. Netflix’s Raat Akeli Hai and Gunjan Sexena ranked at fifth and eight positions with the rest two positions occupied by Zee5’s Yaara and Virgin Bhanupriya at sixth and seventh positions respectively.
Top Original programming across platforms
In Original series segment, MX Player dominated the list with four titles in top 10. Mastram again bagged the top spot followed by Bandish Bandits of Amazon Prime Video. However, its a wonder that the platform’s Breathe Season 2 missed the cut. The rest of the list includes Dangerous at third, Disney+ Hotstar’s Aarya at forth, Naked at fifth, Zee5’s Abhay and Lalbazaar at sixth and seventh, Dark Desire at eighth, Hello Mini at ninth and Paatal Lok at tenth.
Top Syndicated programs
In Syndicated series segment, based on data between 25th July and 21st August Disney+ Hotstar obliterated other platforms with all five titles in its kitty. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai topped the list followed by Anupamaa, RadhaKrishn, Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke and Kasautii Zindagii Kay in 2nd,3rd, 4th and 5th positions respectively.
Based on data between 6th June and 3rd July, Star’s mythological drama Mahabharat topped the list followed by Size Matters at second, Kavita Babhi at third, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai at forth and Charitraheen at fifth positions.
Top News channels across platforms
Based on data of TV news channels streamed From 25th July to 21st August across YouTube, JioTV, Disney+ Hotstar, MX Player and Zee5 on both Live and recorded basis Hindi news channel Aaj Tak topped the list followed by ABP News Hindi, Zee News, ABP News, India TV, BBC News Hindi, NDTV India, News Tak, Aaj Tak HD and TV9 Telugu in the mentioned order.
