Upgrading from Vista will cost lots of money and on top of that Vista is unsupported. It's better to remove Vista completely and live with Linux unless you hv very specific reason to stay with Windows Vista.
Very easy. Delete Windows C partition and remove windows entry from GRUB boot menu. You can edit grub using Grub customizer. It's available in synaptic repository
