Google Researchers Say They Found A 'Crazy Bad' Windows Bug
Project Zero has discovered weaknesses in Microsoft's Edge and Internet Explorer browsers, the popular password manager LastPass, Norton antivirus, and even the Linux kernel. The latest Project Zero find is a Windows bug that security engineer Tavis Ormandy claims is "the worst [of its kind] in recent memory."
While they didn't share technical details about it.
What he chose to share underscores just how dangerous this bug could be. According to Ormandy, the vulnerability exists on any default Windows installation. An attacker doesn't have to be connected to the same physical network as the computer that's being targeted, and the attack can be wormed -- meaning it could self-propagate and infect additional computers.
