I would be happy if the network was government owned network or some network with government having majority controlling stake to prevent monopoly.
I am not going to bat for government owned telecom if they won't bring reform to our inefficient, useless, corrupt, pathetic bureaucracy. They won't bring any innovation and will stick to that old tech like BSNL. See in case of other countries. like Singapore airlines which is owned by Singapore government is one of the top airline in world. And then our Air India! In case of other country they appoint best people to a job while here our govt appoints their party men to the job. They need to appoint industry expert to the telecom rather than useless IAS officers! Otherwise there is no good of a govt owned telecom. It's only a liability on tax payers.

We can say how competition is great and all, but still we used to pay some 200-250 for 1 GB data(~Irrespective of network). So if an operator is unethical, not innovative and not in the mood to adopt the changing environment and new tech, then it is bound to fall. Here i am not saying that competition is not needed. I am just saying even with 5-6 cos, we have to pay a large sum for 1 Gb data. Compare to that we are now paying very less, even the cheapest in the world(With less telecos). So if in future jio will also behave like these airtel, voda, they will also have to shutdown their shop. That is the rule of market! So don't be emotional. Make good use of the all the benefits you are getting as a customer. And of course pay price for that. :)
Well Said..N very True..
this Is What ppl need to understand.. who are right now just getting so Over emotional n feeling sad for AVOID...Ppl No need to be sad or happy for Any operator .. Instead need to enjoy just whatever Benefits we are getting Right now as Customer..As we have never got this much benefits in previous era.. whatever happening with AVOID ..they themselves are responsible for their current situation..
If JIO also doing any thing wrong then sooner or later It will also have to face same fate like AVOID..So instead comparing operators or Complaining n getting sad for any Operator ..Just be happy for whatever you are getting right now n Enjoy it .. rather getting Emotional..

Even now BSNL is not caring for customers or providing prompt support or quality service. Imagine what will happen to us if they were a monopoly.
My landline back home remained dead for months because of great BSNL service.

UK's Vodafone Group Plc. has strongly denied that it has any plans to exit India, saying it fully supports the management of its India joint venture - Vodafone Idea - in these 'challenging' times.
Vodafone is aware of the unfounded and baseless rumours circulating in some of the Indian media that we have decided to exit the market. We would like to categorically state that this is not true and is malicious," the British major said in a statement Thursday.

Even if Vodafone has plans to wind up operations, they should issue this statement to arrest the free fall of its share price. It will help them get a higher amount if someone buy their stake in the JV.
