sadly we are too behind they though are doing best to meet national records , its time national records need to meet updated Olympics standards to meet it they need coaches from abroad who has experience in running and training and even media & sports broadcaster and people should stop overhyping Indian players just before start of Olympic or world events.either we need to raise our bar or we are too behind

the individuals who stay away from media and continue to work hard in other countries away from media attention and work on their weakness an compare their strength with world atheletes standards they are doing well. that is one of the reason why Miss Mirabai chanu won in weightlift. our media & ourselves end up over estimating athletes abilities and don't even support budding talents . if we would have supported and given proper support coach he would have very least would have qualified and similar for other younger athletes participating from India.
winter Olympics - Indian participants never get proper support only few select individual sports are supported only when all r given equal importance or support for training and coaching we could better results like we get in few sports. if somebody wins a medal its good along with him/her we should also support other talents continuously from starting not just before big competition just for name sake to gather more audience for a particular sports.

The problem with our athelets is they are forced to have another day's job to support themselves. I can show you medalist who sell vegetables and tea at streets. They don't get proper financial support. Leave alone proper coaches and nutritionist. In this country monopoly is with one sport. Their athelets even after getting everything fails to achieve major success despite being spoonfeded.

The problem is as you suggested earlier that our athletes has to have a day jon.. Other than that our main problem in India the trails were done and dusted in 2-3 days. See how Espn detailed why being #1 in the world doesn't mean they are necessarily the best of the best in Archery and Shooting because how ranking is done in those sports..

Yes, very happy. Every one was counting on her. There were huge celebrations even before Olympics.How do you feel as an Assamese? Aren’t you proud that someone from your state will bring home an Olympic medal?
