If the device is for extensive gaming, you got to go with j7 which doesn't have any heating issues whatsoever. But if you want clutter free ui and timely updates, go with moto g4 plus.

There would be 4 to 5 variants of ZenFone 3,the top most variant would be costly which would have Snapdragon 820c chipset alongwith 4 GB RAM,others will be in price range of 10k to 16k
Maybe they ZenFone 3 series is not great as expected but still if I was you I would wait,because in J7 you will miss many things like Auto Brightness Sensor,Good Speaker quality etc as it is only good in gaming deptt.
Similarly Moto G4 Plus is a good device but goes down in gaming

You can wait for 1 or 2 months, as many new smartphones are coming, Le Eco 2, Asus Zen phone 3, Moto Z play, HTC midrange phones...
