It's not just pollution. Firecrackers causes fires. Every year you will hear numerous incidents when people's houses, shops, offices, etc. sets on fire because of fireworks. It should be banned altogether not just for diwali. Almost every year you will hear incidents when fireworks companies itself sets on fire.

Yes... Colours are harmful... Only this two festivals are harmful...
I asked about ban on Holi bro? Yes, some colours are harmful. It's upto government to find these sellers of harmful colors. Normal gulal is completely harmless. So, they can't outright ban it or cancel Holi.

are there any certified less polluting fire crackers? There was a buzz in 2018 about that

Meat industry is one of the biggest contributor to global warming. But we are not ready for conversation about putting blanket ban on festivals that sacrifice animals just for the sake of it. / I for one absolutely respect people's freedom and overall health being. Overall health includes mental health. These Diwali crackers were an occasion for us to get together in our busy schedule. At the very least, government should organize community celebration in parks, vacant place in every ward if they will ban crackers. Everything can not be blamed on Environment and be stopped. It is not right. 1 day celebration can not be held as cause of pollution for other 364 days. Specially when even without Diwali crackers, pollution level reach the same level in Delhi NCR during winters.
