Following up on my previous post, I had further communication with Airtel regarding the internet connection for the government school. I was informed that the school's area is not eligible for a prepaid connection only postpaid connections are available there.

However, there is a nearby town that falls under the jurisdiction of LCO, and based on my discussion with him they can provide a prepaid Airtel Xstream Fiber connection.

My question is: If I get a new prepaid connection installed at at town and then relocate the connection to the school after a week, will it remain a prepaid connection, or will it be converted to postpaid upon relocation?

Update: I had registered a complaint on CPGRAMS regarding a prepaid connection. Yesterday, I received a call from an Airtel executive, who informed me of the following:
  • In locations directly managed by Airtel, only postpaid connections are provided.
  • In locations managed by LCOs (Local Cable Operators), both prepaid and postpaid connections are available.

I then asked a specific question: If a prepaid connection taken in an LCO managed location is later shifted to an Airtel managed location, will it continue to function as a prepaid connection?

This was the response I received:
Further, post validation of our records, this is to inform you that we regret the infeasibility to provide a prepaid Airtel broadband...

Relocating a connection shouldn't change it's connection type AFAIK. I have relocated a JioFiber prepaid connection and it remained as prepaid after the relocation.

You can give it a try. High chances it will remain as a prepaid connection.

Btw, I have heard that Airtel spams with many calls if you don't recharge your prepaid connection. JioFiber doesn't do such things for their prepaid connection users.

Further, post validation of our records, this is to inform you that we regret the infeasibility to provide a prepaid Airtel broadband connection at your mentioned location. Additionally, post shifting, the prepaid broadband connection automatically migrates to postpaid according to the feasibility.
