It is getting very hot and a watery substance is coming out of it.
Turn off and unplug the adapter from mains for now, to keep your setup safe. Contact CC and explain this thing. They will schedule a technician visit who will verify the fault and if needed, replace the adapter.

It's been almost 3 days but no one has come nor has anyone contacted me. This morning I was informed through a message that the engineer's visit will now be on 11th May. Whereas the Jio office in my city is barely 500 meters away. The worst thing about them is that when you call customer care, the call gets auto disconnected saying that your service request is pending. There is no solution through WhatsApp chat. The same old answer is received when you contact through X.

Yes, lack of service is expected from Jio right now.

Due to the ongoing Jio Unlimited offer, their team are heavily overloaded with work.

I have got to know this from their service person and also mentioned it on my JioFiber service experience thread:

visit your near jio office if possible.
Yes, visiting the local Jio office and explaining them your issue helps. Because the service supervisor is available there who assign engineers for home visits.

Alternatively, approaching the Jio appellate authority helps. They coordinate with the local Jio team.
