Today morning I got the SMS and email from Jio regarding work order for my connection. I didn't care much, but afternoon I got call from Jio technician for the same citing there doing some upgradation. Since I already saw this thread, I only asked explicitly is it regrading C6 antenna and he confirmed me the same. ODU will be replaced with C6 with free of cost but he asked to give me service charge (It is their personal request I think as Jio never takes any service charge). He asked if I would like to upgrade and confirm the same and I have agreed to the same. He'll be doing same tomorrow.

Jio is very aggressive and bullish on their 5g services utilization through Airfiber most. As this is Tier-2 place - Malur Taluk, Kolar District in Karnataka, they're doing upgradation here also. As per him they've already done so many. Since Airfiber cannot provide constant stable speeds of plan advertised especially symmetrical speeds this C6 helps to get exact plan advertised speed. Currently I'm on 100mbps plan and getting stable 93mbps download speeds anytime but upload speeds will hover around 30-50 Mbps which is not good. Let's see if the C6 makes the difference. Will update after the installation.

Actually Jio Not uses any spectrum In c6 device
Jio Creates hotspots in tower through A6 device and connect it with c6 device
In That Use Spectrum is not used and it is free

Thakur said the network configuration is allowing Jio to use a single radiating gear to serve multiple users, which in turn, is lowering the cost of deployment. ‘So the cost that we incur to connect every new home is incrementally much less than what you would hear about companies elsewhere, which are doing such a thing,’ he said.

As I have always said, AirFiber technology is there to cut down the fiber (FTTH) deployment and maintenance costs. However, the con is that it's not as reliable as optical fiber connections.

I feel this proprietary 4G/5G or broadband core they are saying they have developed is not as resilient as the European vendors. They need to tweak it more and try to improve the latency. Their 5G latency itself is not consistent. Airtel with lower infra than them is providing 15ms ping in 4G/NSA itself it might go even lower once they migrate to SA. Jio needs to do lots of work in this section.

Jio is having mammoth infrastructure but it's not giving that feel of using it.

Jio 4G has a mediocre vendor (Samsung), but its 5G SA vendors are mostly from Europe (Ericsson & Nokia).
