Mukesh Ambani-run Reliance Jio has rolled out a new update for its JioMusic app which helps users save data. The application shows a pop-up every time one tries to take a song offline, the pop-up reads ‘During 2 to 5 AM, enjoy download at ZERO data charges’.
The app also offers two options to users for downloading songs; Download at Night and Download Now. On choosing the Download at Night option, the app automatically sets up a reminder to download the song between 2 AM and 5 AM.
However, it is required for the phone to have at least 20% battery and the mobile data turned on, to be able to download songs at night. JioMusic has over one crore songs to offer.
According to a recent report by TRAI , Reliance Jio’s average data download speed rose to 18.17 Mbps in December, almost twice that of closest rival Vodafone, putting the new entrant at the top of the pack within months of its commercial launch, according to the telecom regulator.
