Nokia is all set to make its comeback with smartphones and tablets. While the company hasn’t announced when it will be making the products official, the rumor mill has been abuzz with renders and speculations about the smartphones. While one of the reports hinted at two high-end smartphones, a recent benchmark listing revealed Nokia D1C tablet sporting 13.8-inch display and running on Android Nougat OS. Now, in the latest leak, alleged casing of an unannounced Nokia smartphone has surfaced online.

Spotted by GizmoChina, set of leaked photos show off the metal casing in silver and black color. From what we can see, the upcoming Nokia smartphone could feature an all-metal unibody design in a slim profile. The antenna bands can be seen along the top and bottom edges, just like the ones we have seen on the new iPhones. While we can see two slots of unequal sizes, one is likely to house the rear camera, whereas the other may either have a fingerprint scanner or a secondary camera. The casing also has Nokia branding at the back. On the right edge, we can see three slots, probably for volume buttons and power / sleep buttons.

Talking about Nokia Android smartphones that have been in news, we have heard that one would feature a 5.2-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display, whereas the other could sport a slightly larger 5.5-inch QHD display. In terms of processor, both smartphones could be powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 820 quad-core processors. In the camera department, both smartphones could come packed with a 22.6-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash and 4K video recording capabilities.

On the connectivity front, the smartphones are likely to support 4G LTE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Other details like selfie camera resolution, onboard storage and amount of RAM are currently unknown. On the software front, the smartphone could run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. Rumors also suggest that the smartphone could launch with price starting at Rs 30,000.

Besides smartphones, we have also come across Nokia D1C tablet. The benchmark listing reveals a 13.8-inch full HD (1080p) display. Under the hood, the tablet is said to run Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor (eight Cortex A53 cores) clocked at 1.4GHz paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, 16GB onboard storage is expected, with 9GB being user accessible. However, there is no word on whether it will be expandable or not. In the photography department, a 15-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash and a 7-megapixel selfie camera is also expected. Connectivity options on the tablet include Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi. Other details such as 4G connectivity, battery capacity and design are currently unknown. The Nokia D1C tablet is expected to carry a mid-range price tag. While the launch date of the Nokia tablet is not known yet, we can expect it to launch with the two smartphones.

Back in October, a senior Microsoft executive revealed that Nokia will be launching its smartphones sometime in early Q2 2017. Later, Nokia had also confirmed its presence at MWC 2017 where the company president and CEO Rajeev Suri will be addressing the keynote. While it is highly unlikely to see Nokia unveiling a smartphone at MWC 2017, it remains to be seen if Nokia could surprise everyone with smartphone announcement.
