In Company store linking is free but if you visit retailer then retailer may charge something(They charge me Rs 35 for 6 SIMs of different company ). here Vodafone store link only one SIM per day but no such restriction With retailer and with retailer you can link different company SIM that's one benefit.

Can we link sim existing with different name to our name. I use sim which was taken with my friends ID, so can it be changed to my name with my aadhar details?

Change of ownership is possible . I recently did with one of my Voda number.
