For avoiding unnecessarily tangling of the legs the use of legs have to prohibited in football. And anyway I can bet that after this tournament this garbage will stop. And Ronaldo penalty was a blatant dive.Argentina’s penalty was a soft one though a penalty by law. However, the holding was minimal. This is already implemented in CL to an extent but not when the players decide to take tumble on slightest of touches or holding of shirt.I know Football is a contact sport and if it is a 50-50 ball fine but in this case there was no chance of defender even being anywhere near to the ball If they dive I understand not giving but defenders just try to unnecessarily put their leg out that should stop only if penalties are given for those sort of unnecessary touches by the defender
Another example was the Ronaldo penalty Ronaldo got to the ball the defender could have just let Ronaldo run with it but unnecessarily gave a light push and clip on his heel so Ronaldo went down penalty.
Same was the case with the Argentine penalty the ball didnt even reach the last player who was fouled but unnecessarily the defender was holding the player. Old days it would be accepted but now thanks to VAR it is same for attackers and defenders if attacker holds a defender its a foul same if defender holds an attacker.
I am saying that if its a 50-50 ball go for it but nowadays defenders are holding people shirt for corners they are more concerned about the attacker gaining a run on him than they are of actually heading a corner away from goal. This has to change and one way it will change is by giving penalties for holding on to people shirts. This is already implemented in CL to an extent but not when the players decide to take tumble on slightest of touches or holding of shirt.
