Free Guy is available on D+H since 15th Oct. Why it's releasing on Disney+ 4 months later?
Because they don't have pay 1 window rights in the USA. HBO max does have the rights for the 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures films. Disney had brokered a deal with WB recently to allow them to have rights for half of the films of their choice in exchange for reducing the theatrical window for HBO max on all films. In that deal, they have got Ron's Gone Wrong, Free Guy currently. They have selected the films which they want and they will be streamed on Disney+/ Hulu and HBO max.
